They look so natural

I just had to post this picture of Prince William and Kate Middleton. I absolutely love it because they look so natural and relaxed. This picture seems so genuine. But most of all, he looks so protective of her with the way that he has his arms completely encircling her. Can't wait for April 29th to get here!

He had nice buns!

Over the weekend, I purchased several movies, one of which was "An American in Paris". This movie stars Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron.

Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron are the most amazing dancers. This movie has made me want to take dance lessons.
This was Leslie Caron's first movie. When I called to tell my Mom about the movie, she told me that Leslie Caron was well-known as a ballet dancer prior to this movie. She was so graceful and just lovely to watch. She is a very talented lady.

But Gene Kelly . . . aaaaahhhhh . . . Gene Kelly . . . what a nice butt! I mean it. That man's butt sent shivers down my spine. He was absolutely amazing to watch as he danced and I would watch him anyday over Fred Astaire. His style of dance was so much more energetic and much more interesting to watch. He was sooooo much better-looking than Fred Astaire. He was smoldering hot when he was younger. But his butt . . . It should have had its own movie. Maybe there should even be a memorial erected in his butt's honor!

Royal Wedding Confessions

I have another confession to make. As a young girl, I watched the "first" royal wedding on July 29, 1981, between Prince Charles and Lady Diana 9 times on television. That's right - 9 times! It was truly a fairy tale. The dress with it's 25-foot train, the bouquet, the carriage, the fanfare, just everything. It sucked me right in.

I think that it is absolutely amazing that Prince William was able to give Princess Diana's engagement ring to his Princess. That has to be so special to Kate Middleton.

I absolutely loved Princess Diana. I admired her. I adored her. I was fascinated by her. I would have LOVED to meet her in person. I have several books that were written about her life. She was so flawed yet still so compassionate. I loved that she was such a hands-on mom to the Princes. She always went against what was expected of her and she was so strong. She always stood up for herself. It may not have always have been all that constructive but she did what she felt was right. She had such style, such class.
I had just started dating the Hot Tamale when she died. I remember that I had just woken up when I heard the news of her passing. I was devastated. Poor HT called me that morning and I was in tears. He probably thought I had completely lost my mind.
In the days following her passing, I actually went out and purchased Elton John's single on cassette from Princess Diana's funeral. He redid his song "Candle in the Wind". I'm sure I still have it. I just don't know where it is.
I think that Prince William looks so much like his mother but not only that, he exhibits so many of the same personality traits as his amazing mother. It's just too bad that she isn't here in person to see what a great son she raised and to get to know her amazing daughter-in-law. Princess Diana was truly an amazing woman.

Did anyone else know . . .?

In honor of the upcoming royal wedding, I have been doing research online about various members of the royal family.
Was anyone else aware that the Queen Mother had passed away in 2002 at the age of 101 ??? I guess I just do not remember ever hearing about it. I had been wondering what she was up to these days. Now I know.
The Queen Mum was a very interesting woman (Just look her up on Wikipedia). She had a dry sense of humor and was always smiling. She seemed pretty down-to-earth and sometimes was known to go against the norm. Queen Elizabeth II could pick up a thing or two from her mother.
Speaking of Queen Elizabeth, I was looking through a scrapbook that belongs to my Dad and in there, was a birthday card from his sister. It had a picture of Queen Elizabeth and her husband, Philip, on it. It was signed from "Liz and Phil". I just found that to be so hysterical. My Dad's family members have very dry senses of humor also.
In closing, I just have one question for which I've never heard an answer - why do so many Brits have such terrible teeth (look @ the Queen Mum's)?

There may be something wrong with me!

(Hello . . . Have you seen the man's sons?!?!?!) Before, I watched the show to drool over Dog's two sons - Duane Lee and Leland but then I found that I actually enjoyed the show itself not just the hot sons.

First, they all seem to be very kind-hearted people and they almost always want to help the fugitives better themselves. They always demonstrate a genuine concern, asking what led them to this life and sharing their own life experiences with their fugitives.
Second, I absolutely adore how different they all are. They encourage individuality in their family (in case you couldn't tell from Dog's hair). And they never ever follow "the rules".
And last but certainly not least, Dog and his wife, Beth, are so stinking cute together! They met in the 80's when Dog was Beth's bail bondsman. They've been together since 1990 and finally married in 2006. And after all those years together and everything that they have gone through together, they are still absolutely crazy about each other.

My bath ingredients

I luxuriated in a bubble bath for nearly 2 hours last night! It was absolute heaven!

I used Dr. Teal's eucalyptus/spearmint epsom salts and NOW eucalyptus and lavender essential oils. Then I topped it all off with Bath & Body Works Orange Sapphire bubble bath.

You may be scratching your head right now, wondering why I'd put citrus and spicy together. Well, you have to think outside the box. Scents that you wouldn't think would smell very good together end up complimenting each other. Citrus and spice do that . . . they complete each other.

Fox in a Box
As I was browsing through the makeup section of my local Wal-Mart the other day, I stumbled across this Hard Candy Fox in a Box blush/bronzing duo. I had to have it!

The name of this product may sound like something out of a Dr. Seuss book but it is a great product. This is the actual duo that I purchased. It's called "Truth or Dare" and it was only $6.00. It's a real bargain because it can be worn 3 different ways - swirl your brush through both colors, the pink by itself or the bronze by itself. I personally swirl both colors together . . . it makes a fabulous neutral blush color.

I love this hair!

I realize that this is not what Katie Holmes hair looks like currently but I love this hair. I have actually been growing my hair out a little bit and I'm just a little bit shy of being able to have this hair. Actually, right now, my hair is a textured slight A-line. It should only be about another couple of months before I can do this cut!

The great thing about a strapless dress . . .

. . . is that it is so versatile. Let me explain.
This Betsey Johnson dress could be paired with any of the following:
1. Little flats and a denim jacket.
2. A white button-down shirt and black pumps.
3. A hot pink t-shirt and a pair of open-toe booties.
4. Simple black strappy sandals and a turquoise clutch.
5. A black bolero jacket & hot pink pumps.
6. Little flat black sandals, a black lightweight cardigan and big Jackie O sunglasses.
The options are endless!

If your necklace is too small . . .
I was talking to a girlfriend of mine last week and she was telling me that she had purchased a stunning pearl choker but when she got it home, she discovered that it was too small. She went on to tell me that she wasn't going to be able to wear it.
I had one word for her - EXTENDER. What is an extender you ask? Well, it is a little piece of chain that you attach to the fastener ring of your necklace and it extends the length of your necklace by about an inch or inch and a half. It has a ring at the end of it so you still have a way to fasten your necklace.
This handy little item can be purchased at any jewelry store or it can also be purchased at your local Wal-Mart. The ones at Wal-Mart are sterling silver and cost less than $5.00.
Don't let a little thing like fit stop you from wearing your favorite jewelry pieces!

Jen's hair

Of course, the big buzz today is Jennifer Aniston's hair. IT IS AMAZING!!!!! I just saw it and had to include it on my blog.
This new do makes Jen look so much more sophisticated that it isn't even funny. This hair is so hot!
After looking at it for about a split second, I decided that this would also look amazing on my sister, Wonder Woman. I haven't seen her in awhile but I'm assuming that she still has hair to her waist. Anyhow, this hair would look amazing on Wonder Woman because it's sophisticated, it draws the eye up (which in turn makes you seem taller & thinner), it's classic yet still H - O - T and it doesn't require a commitment to short hair since it's still a mid-length.
Now onto a new outfit for Jen to go with her new hair . . .

This outfit is edgy with a touch of class. The dress is another Patricia Field and the shoes are Manolo Blahniks. I would not put Jen in the gloves because that would be over-the-top edgy for her. Instead, I would simply pair this outfit with a knuckle-dusting black diamond ring set in blackened gold. Very chic and simple.
This Patricia Field dress would be another option, except in black . . .

I would keep all of Jen's accessories the same. She has gorgeous legs (she is a jogger - in sand, no less) and this outfit would show them off. It would also take her look to the next level.

An outfit for Carrie Bradshaw

In addition, she would wear her ginormous gold "Carrie" earrings, a necklace with red cherries and carry a lime green or bubble gum pink clutch. (Note: Carrie Bradshaw doesn't always "match" but she always makes it work)
I could see Carrie wearing this out to a nice romantic dinner with Mr. Big or a girls night out with Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha. This outfit is comfy but

The ultimate . . . Harrod's
One of my favorite things to do is to go to the Harrod's website and drool over all the fashions. There are many things that I would never be caught dead in but there are many things that I absolutely love. Below is one of these items - a French Connection skirt.

This skirt has a slightly higher waistline which is very slimming and it also elongates the legs.
I would wear this with a silky black button-down blouse and simple black pumps to wear to the office. It could also be paired with a simple white button-down blouse, a red 1" patent leather belt with a bow (found that at Forever 21 for under $10) and gray mid-heel pumps.
This skirt would be another highly versatile item and well worth the investment.

Oo La La!

Here is yet another Patricia Field outfit. This would be a really great date outfit. But the dress is kind of multi-purpose. It could also be paired with a pair of little black flats, black wedge espadrilles or black flat sandals for a nice casual look. Or you could pair it with a simple black blazer, simple black pumps (no glitter) and a black multi-chain necklace and wear it to work - provided that your workplace is not too conservative.

I highly recommend investing in a multi-purpose dress such as this. It doesn't have to have a pattern or be fancy. A simple silhouette will work best and lay nicely under layering pieces. It will make packing easy and will give you many dressing options.

My recommendation for your health
My friend, Timbri, has 5 daughters. I stopped by to visit with all of them for a few minutes this afternoon. Three out of the 5 kids were sick as was one of the kids she was babysitting. It seems like they are ALWAYS sick.
So my recommendation is this - OLIVE LEAF EXTRACT. Olive leaf extract is an herbal antibiotic. I personally prefer the liquid versus the capsules. The liquid seems to be more effective. You should be able to stop at just about any health food store to find it.
I have used olive leaf extract for many years. I have found that during cold & flu season, it cuts the duration of my illnesses from the normal 10 days to about 4 days.
One word of caution . . . Make sure to use a reputable health food store with knowledgeable staff. The adult dose for the one that I use is 20 drops. You will want to consult with the staff about using it in children.

The Audrey t-shirt

I frequently go to the Audrey Hepburn website (www.audreyhepburn.com). There is a "store" on the website where you can buy various items and all the proceeds go to her charity.
This Audrey t-shirt is one of the items that I have purchased. Every time I wear it (no, this isn't me in the pic), most everyone immediately recognizes her eyes.
So I was just wondering - why did Stevie Nicks go with "Bette Davis eyes" instead of "Audrey Hepburn eyes"?

My friend's hair

I have a girlfriend, whom I will refer to as Thumbellina. Thumbellina has really thick, long hair. She recently went to a dark chocolate color, which looks totally hot on her.
I was looking at a magazine, when I ran across a picture of Salma Hayek. All I could think was how hot Salma's hair would look on Thumbellina. It's time for an update, Girlfriend!

Another Patricia Field outfit

I absolutely fell in love with these items when I saw them. The skirt is so much fun and is very feminine. I love the shoes because they give the skirt a little bit of an edge. (Yes, the heels are actually a pair of brass knuckles - what an interesting detail for a shoe!)
If I were going to wear these, I would pair them with a standard white button-down, some black patterned tights and a onyx and silver chunky necklace. If I wanted to be a little fancier, I would replace the white button-down with a silky black button-down blouse, replace the patterned tights with sheer black hose and carry a small brightly-colored clutch.
If I were going to put these on Lady Gaga, I would pair them with a white lace long-sleeved turtleneck, white lace gloves, white lace tights and a white wide-rimmed Kentucky Derby-style hat.
If I were going to put these on Diane Keaton, I would pair them with a standard white button-down (buttoned all the way to the neck), an onyx and silver brooch with chain details at the neck, white opaque tights with black polka-dots and a pair of white gloves with a black bow at the wrist.
If I were going to put these on Sarah Jessica Parker, I would pair them with a simple white tanktop, black leather fingerless half-gloves and I would pile on the pearl necklaces - all different lengths but all white.
If I were going to put these on Rihanna, I would pair them with a black corset and a black jet beaded bib necklace that covered her neck and cascaded onto the upper chest. Bare legs, of course.
But if I were going to put these on a young lady for the prom, I would pair them with a simple white crew-neck t-shirt with cap sleeves, white lacy tights (but not too lacy), a big pearl necklace or choker with sparkly details, a faux-fur 3/4 sleeve bolero jacket probably in black or leopard print and a pair of hot pink or red or purple opera length gloves. I would probably also include a pearl bracelet that matches the necklace or choker over the gloves.
These items are so versatile, yet still fun, at any age!
