The Bashful Peacock

I searched through all of my memory cards and am unable to locate the picture of the Bashful Peacock. The next time I visit that particular zoo, I will see if I can get it to hide for me again!

The Angel Baby

I take care of a baby girl almost every day while her Mommy is at work. She is, by far, the most pleasant baby I think I've ever been around. She just cut her first tooth this past Sunday and is trying to cut another. She's a little bit fussy but not all that much . . . considering that she may be coming down with the chicken pox on top of teething. Sucks to be her Mom!

She is like my own living doll. I have had SO much fun buying her little outfits. She may hate me for them when she's older but I think they're adorable. Hopefully, in the next couple of weeks, I'll be able to include pictures of some of her outfits that I put together for her. So stay tuned . . .

Shoes of many colors

I went to one of the zoos in the Phoenix area several years ago where I took a picture of a peacock hiding under a bush. All you can see is the beautiful, regal, colorful plume sticking out from underneath. I absolutely adore the colors found in peacock feathers so when I stumbled across the stunning "Proudly Posh" shoes on ModCloth, I couldn't resist including them here.

I would pair these shoes with a black, purple, gray or peacock green dress for a special look. They would also look great paired with a royal blue dress. They could also be worn with a black pantsuit for a special touch.

When I get a moment, I will go through my memory cards and see if I can find the picture that I took of the bashful peacock. It serves as a perfect guide for color coordination. You never have to look far beyond nature to find guidance.

Made in where?!?!?!

As I lounged on the pot yesterday (Yes I know, TMI), I glanced down at the inner label on my Levi's. It said "Made in Mexico". I did a double-take. What in the world?!?!?! It did indeed say "Made in Mexico".

I was disappointed. I always liked Levi's because I thought they were made in the USA. I guess in the future, I will be looking at my labels a little more closely (not that every label in my closet says that it's made in the USA). I just feel that Levi's has always been touted as an American brand so it should actually be made in the USA. That's all I'm saying.

Nail polish substitution

It is my understanding that this Chanel Peridot nail polish is really big this season. For those of us on a budget, I have found a similar shade. It is from Rimmel London's Lasting Finish Pro line and is called "Rags to Riches". It is slightly less gold than the Chanel polish (which is perfect for me) and cost less than $5 at my local Wal-Mart. I'm sure it can probably be purchased just about anywhere.

My Man Rocks!

The Hot Tamale went on a business trip not too long ago. He usually tries to bring me back a little something. This particular trip he came home with these - gunmetal angel wing earrings with crystal accents. My Man totally rocks!!! I was extremely impressed because he picked them out all by himself and I love all things angels. They're quite substantial, almost like pewter, and the detail in the feathers is quite intricate. Every time I wear them, I get alot of compliments so I always take the opportunity to compliment my Hot Tamale on his impeccable taste.

Leftover Halloween candy

As is the case with so many years past, we bought way too much Halloween candy to hand out to trick-or-treaters. Every year, I tell myself to just get 1 bag of fun-size candy bars and then, somehow, I manage to convince myself that we're going to need more candy this year so I buy 3 or 4 bags. And every year, we get maybe 25 trick-or-treaters and end up with tons of leftovers.

So this year, we have a plan. I had the Hot Tamale take out what he wanted for his lunches. Then I took a few pieces for myself and PUT THEM IN THE FREEZER. That way, I will actually have to plan way ahead if I want any as you can't exactly defrost chocolate in the microwave and it will keep me from over-indulging. (Yes, People, I have "mad" thinking skills!!!) The remainder was divided between 2 nearby families with kids.

So rather than eating all of the leftovers, freeze them. It will help you control your weight, cholesterol and your diabetic coma!
